Rain, Lightning, Thunder and 3 first places!

Thats right! Stetsons walked away ( well.. swam..) from Racine with first place in the track parade, first place in Percussion and First place in Colour guard!!! ( all in parade)

We performed first in the field show competition, and barely finished our show when it started to pour. While on the field, although beautiful, it was scarey as the lightning lit up the sky during the third movement. This performance we must say, was fabulous! Parents, wait until you see the show. They have worked so hard and tonight was unbelievable.
It was too bad the weather came in, as the show got cancelled right after us, and the remaining groups did exhibition stand stills in the gym.

The band is aboard the bus, they left Racine at 11:00 and are on their way home! I am back in Chicago, driving in a complete wall of rain, I have never driven in so much rain ever! I hope the rain followed me and not the buses! Stampede band pulled out about half an hour behind them, so they just may meet up after all!

Well, I will keep you updated as I hear from them, Thanks for reading, and see you all soon! I had hoped to post pictures, however, it is almost 1:30 am, and I was up early today driving to Milwaukee, and then to Racine, and now to Chicago!
G'night!

Here are some quick pics from the tour

This last one of Andrew and Bethany on the Superman ride at Six Flags, the ride broke down while they were on it, don't worry, it wasn't too long before they got back on their feet!

Six Flags

32 °C

Sorry for falling behind, we haven't found much time for blogging and are very tired!

Yesterday the band rehearsed all day, and had a fabulous rehearsal.
Late afternoon we went down the the Whitewater Festival and did a stand still performance by the lake. It was a beautiful setting and we stopped and posed for a group picture as well. Later in the evening we had a picnic, free time and a couple hours in the swimming pool.

Today we went shopping at the outlet mall and on to Six Flags. It was a blast, everyone had so much fun. Everyone is in bed now, and we will rehearse, clean the dorms and pack in the morning. In the afteroon it is off to Racine for our last tour performance ( and parade) and then onto the buses to head home!!!

Everyone is having a fabulous time and are sad to see the tour coming to an end, but are happy to be heading home to family and friends!

Still not able to upload pictures from here, I will try to post some at least tomorrow night.

Sun Prairie Competition

Wow!
Stetsons put on a fantastic show this evening. Our score went up by 5 points! We made a lot of adjustments and changes in our very short rehearsal time this morning, but wow, did it do the job!

We started the day off with a morning rehearsal and headed off to Sun Prairie. We did a 2:00 parade, where we placed a very impressive Second place ( Yay Calgary for taking 1 and 2!)

After the parade, we rehearsed once again in the very hot sun, but the members stood strong and pushed through it. This evenings field show was at a perfect time, the sun had gone down, the breeze came in and the stadium lights shone down on the Stetson Stars.

We apologize for lack of pictures, we had hoped to post a video of tonights show too, but it will take a bit of computer to computer work on our end, and honestley, the only time we have to right this blog, is when we should be in bed... tomorrow night, provided the day rehearsal goes well, the members will finally get some free time, so we will try then to post some pics. We can't hook our own computers up directly, which is the hold up.

Good night from Whitewater!

For those with Stampede Band sons or daughters, if you aren't getting updates, Stampede won the parade today, the field show, Drum Major award, GE Award and the Guard award!
